Consultation

Public consultation is a crucial component of the pre-application process for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs).

We are committed to early and continuous engagement to ensure that the development of our proposals for East Pye Solar is informed and shaped by community input. Local communities, residents, and councils play a vital role in this process.

The design process for the proposed development will be iterative and will be informed by feedback received during the two stages of community consultation that are planned for the project.

Overview of consultation stages

  • An initial non-statutory consultation stage will take place between October and December 2024 and will run for six weeks.

During this time, we will present our early-stage proposals for East Pye Solar and seek your feedback on our plans. This feedback, alongside ongoing studies and surveys, is being used to help shape and refine our proposals. During this first phase of consultation, we are committed to engaging with local communities regarding our initial plans to offer you the opportunity to share your perspective and feedback with us at an early stage in the development process.

Further details regarding our phase one consultation will be available soon.

  • Further to developing more detailed proposals for the project, we will then carry out a second stage of consultation (“Phase Two”). This will be a statutory phase of consultation as is required by the Development Consent Order process. We expect to carry out this second phase of consultation in Summer 2025.

We will review our detailed proposals in light of the feedback received during this second consultation, along with the outcomes of ongoing assessments, to finalise and submit our application for development consent to the Planning Inspectorate.
